ABOUT JULIA

Julia Breanetta Simpson is an actress, singer, producer and audiobook narrator. Her background on stage, screen, and TV, combined with her fervor for history, fuels her love of Historical and Literary Fiction, and YA audiobooks. She has a passion for honoring and celebrating contributions made to society and world culture by African Americans. This love has prompted her to create, perform and produce one-woman shows, cabarets and concerts featuring the stories of little-known figures from African American history.

Julia is an experienced talent who knows how to deliver. Her vibrant personality, and her warm, nurturing, convincing and authoritative voice lend themselves easily to narrating Non-Fiction. Service on acting and community Boards and committees further enhances her knowledge and skills in this area. Julia’s stage experience and great comedic timing work well for Rom-Coms. She earned her BFA at Syracuse University and studied abroad in London, England. She is a member of both SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity Association, as well as the Audio Publishers Association. Julia is excited and grateful for every project she is blessed to work on. 

A southern belle, Julia now calls New York home. While growing up in North Carolina, she learned the fine arts of cooking, decorating and entertaining. She is dedicated to working out and loves dancing ‘til she drops! Julia also adores traveling. Her all-time favorite spot is Maui, HI and she hopes to live and work there one day. Fun fact – Julia once performed the role of “God” in a musical where she had to rap!
